About

Sarah AdieBaby Pique is run by former editor of Crafty Magazine Sarah Adie, who works out of her at-home design studio in south Manchester. She specialises in one-of-a-kind lamps for sale, which she makes entirely from scratch from beautiful cut glass decanters and other interesting bottles, carefully selecting fabric that is perfectly suited to each individual bottle to make a stunning lampshade that can’t be purchased anywhere else.

Sarah’s other core product that you can find in her online shop is curiosity cabinets – all hand-crafted from vintage photo or picture frames, with beautiful hand-sewn fabric moths, beetles and other insects pinned inside, like the Victorian curiosity cabinets of old.

As for Sarah herself, she is a qualified journalist who has worked for numerous publications and online news agencies since graduating from the University of Cardiff in 2009, having taken the postgraduate diploma in magazine studies. She was inspired to start the Baby Pique brand while working as editor of Crafty, after meeting so many interesting and creative people running their own businesses. In her spare time (what little she has), she enjoys doing lots of knitting, blogging, watching The Walking Dead, dreaming about owning a sausage dog called Miguel and shopping for all things mustard-coloured. She’s also doing up her house, so a lot of time is spent making cushions and re-tiling kitchens!

Baby Pique launched in July 2014 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Baby Pique lamps and other home decor items can be purchased online via the Baby Pique Etsy shop, but you can also get in touch with Sarah via her contact page to request a bespoke commission.
